Our Story
VONIP was established as a response to persistent challenges affecting pastoralist and marginalized communities in Kenya, including gender inequalities, low literacy rates, health and nutrition concerns, climate-induced vulnerabilities, and socio-economic marginalization.
Our founders, having grown up in these communities, understood that sustainable change must come from within. They envisioned an organization that would amplify the voices of nomadic and semi-nomadic communities while providing them with the tools and resources needed for self-reliance.
Since our inception, we have reached over 50,000 community members across Karare Ward and beyond, implementing programs that address the most pressing needs identified by the communities themselves.
